We have all been a part of making wine for over a decade! In 2014, our boys Joe, Cori, and their friend Dave helped with the Sangria wine you purchase today. They used all their own fruits and created a medium rose', fruity wine!
We have been in business since January 2008 and went through our 1st "crush season" in the fall of 2008. We have opened a winery to provide tastings, GREAT TIMES, private parties, indoor/outdoor seating, and great tasting homemade pizza dough along with lots of other food options!
In 2015, we started an addition to include another full basement, a pavilion, more bathrooms, and a new kitchen! We opened the new kitchen serving brick oven pizza, pasta, and lots of fun sandwiches & paninis in September 2019. The basement and pavilion are great for our enjoyment and yours! The pavilion has had some extraordinary parties in it so far! We are very excited about this new opportunity with the different foods! You can order your food at the pavilion window and we will bring it out to you!
In January 2026, we start our 18th year in Business for D&D Smith Winery!
Coming from humble beginnings. We strive to have great-tasting wine with a quality finish! You can see this with our over 150 award-winning wines!
The picture below is in the basement of our home around September 2008. We took a room, put locks on both doors (for our federals, you know!), had 7 tanks of 600 liters each, a 6-prong bottle filler shown, and a standalone hand corker. That was the start of D&D Smith Winery! In 2026 we have 14 stainless steel vats!

Our History
We've been making wines for over 30 years!
In 2029, we have 47 wines to choose from, including three
wine slushies & always ready to enjoy on premise!
The Frontenac Gris is our only Estate grape wine, which
we grow about a mile up the road. This grape is a hybrid that the Ohio State University Extension office thought would be good for us to grow nearly 16 years ago, and it's been a great-tasting wine, which has won its share of awards.
We also grow Asian Pears and Blueberries which make up our 6 Ways From Sunday, our Blue Port and our Blueberry wines!
Speaking of awards, did you know that in the 2025 Ohio Wine Competition, we had 23 award-winning wines? Blackberry got Double Gold and Best of Show Fruit as well as 5 others to receive Double Gold status!!
