Hello! Today is January 24th and we are going into our 3rd year of D & D Smith Winery! We are happy to be a part of the wine industry and thank all who have supported us over the past two years! Keep us in mind for 2012 and enjoy the many tastes D & D Smith Winery has to offer! Remember, we are doing wine making classes (YEP, teaching you how to make it yourself at home!) starting this Sunday January 29th 1-3pm. Call to reserve your seat!
Once again, a fantastic time at D & D last night! We had a full house for comedy night as well as serveral who showed up to fill the loft for their own special party! Danny Mundy did a great job!
Today is Nov 15th and we are having a great time with the Souper Trail! We have coming up Comedy Night with Danny Stoneking Mundy 11/25 8pm $15 pp includes catered appetizers! Call Danielle to reserve today!
We've been having sooo much fun with our Mystery Dinner Evenings! Today is Oct 5th....yeah, I'm a bit behind on this chat, but here I am now!! We have our 2nd Mystery Dinner Evening this Saturday called "Couples Retreat". I must say it was a fantastic show two weeks ago! If you got the time call us for reservations! You won't be disappointed! Also our Thursday nights are going change up a bit...change, change change... I know. We're going to try some different things on Thursdays. Check out our calendar soon to see what's happening at D & D! Don't forget we have a comedy night coming up in November. Details aren't ironed out yet but will be soon!
We had our first Wedding at our Winery September 3rd! Congratulations to Amanda Jackson! Not sure if you all know but she is one of the actresses in our Mystery Plays in which we have another coming up Sept 24th! Speaking of that our new show is called "Couples Retreat" and it's an interactive mystery evening to include the show and a catered meal of boneless chicken breast, cheesy potatoes, beans, rolls and salad. $25 pp doors open 5:30pm and show starts at 6pm. Give Danielle a call if you would like to partake in this fun evening!
Hello Everyone! I'm so far behind on all these "Chats" but I guess I get to them when I can! Anyway, today is August 30th and what a great day! We have a Mystery Dinner coming up 9/24 tickets are $25/pp and we are currently taking reservation till full. We are about half way there! The foods are catered by Linda Bischoff of Eagles with Chicken, Cheesy Potatoes, Grean Beans and Salad. This interactive show is put on by The Shoestring Players with Ray Sizemore heading up the crew! We have a fantastic time during these events. Hello All! Today is August 2nd and I just want to say we had a great time this past weekend with everyone! The Brain Cancer Benefit was fun and the 5k run was great! It's a lot of work but well worth it!
Ok - Does anyone ever get grouchy! I do...... Guess I need more sleep! Anyway, today is June 18 and we had a fantastic night last night. A big thanks out to Aunt Pat and Uncle Don for their understanding on the reservation!! I think the New London Class of 1961 had a great time! Ms Shannon I believe enjoyed her "surprise birthday party" too! Today we had a bus tour and those are always fun! Thanks Paula!
Guess What? Our Apple-Cinn wine is finally approved from Federal!! Give us a week or so to get this labels printed and bottled up. This is a great tasting wine!
Hello Everyone! Denny and I are very appreciative to you all who come out every weekend to support our business! Thanks so much! I want to let you all know ahead of time we have a fund raising event coming up July 30th starting late afternoon to whenever. We are raising funds for Brain Cancer. This horrible disease took someone close to us last year and we want to support those who may be able to find better ways to cure Brain Cancer (all cancers really). If you have a business or would like to just donate for the cause please call me. We are also doing a 5k race starting at 6pm (sign ups at the winery) where we need sponsors to donate fruits, waters, bagels for after the run. Being a sponsor will get your business name on our shirts as well as advertisement of the sponsorship. We will have entertainment, food, raffles, and awards that evening after the race. Again, thank you for your continued support!
OH How silly! I haven't updated this for over a month! I'm so sorry all....i'll get better... Check out our calendar for some great things coming our way. We may have another Murder Mystery evening in April. If you're up for it give me a call to get on the list. Comedy night April 30th. More to come. Thursday nights are heatin' up with fantastic Vietnamese foods and Make-up, massage, foot spa, and hormone therapy! Our youngest entertainer EVER at D & D will here on April 23rd ~ gotta check this out!
Today is February 6th and we had a great time last night with the Shoestring Players and their "Romance Isn't Dead (But Someone Is)" Mystery Dinner Evening! Sounds like it went over great! We had a couple helpers to get food to the customers and I want to thank them too! Nora and Chanh; Denny and I Thank You Both! Your presence made for an enjoyable evening! Thanks to Ray Sizemore and his cast for a "mysterious" evening! We look forward to the Feb 19th show as well!
Where did January go?? Today is January 29th and we are open today till 10pm with food from 5-8pm. We have spaghetti, rigatoni, salad and bread for $6.50. Our wine classes are sold out for Feb 6th and we started filling for March 13th if you're interested call me! Our Mystery Dinner evening for Feb 5th is sold out and we are trying to get another show Feb 19th. More to come on that!!

Hello! Today is January 12 and I served on my 1st Grand Jury Duty..... such as life! Not much to say there..... We are missing our friends we've become close to over the past year (yes, you our winery patrons!). The break feels good though! Session 1 wine class is this Sunday 1-3pm. We are bottling!! We are hosting a new entertainer January 22; Brad Hoffman at 8pm. You can listen to some of his music on Facebook. Just put in his name and pick on the music. Don't forget we got a few tickets left for the Feb 5th Mystery Dinner Evening. I believe we are going to try to get all on the ground floor.
Today is January 6th! OMG the year has started without me! It'll catch up soon i'm sure! If you don't know already we are taking a small break till January 20th. Not going anywhere, just taxes and trying to relax! We do have a birthday party at the winery this Saturday opening up at 5:30pm. If you want to stop by for a beverage please do! Hello! Today is November 29th and I didn't realize how behind I am! Sorry everyone...I skipped a week! Anyway, we've had some great times this past year, a lot of fun, and met fantastic people through this journey! We thank you for your support during this first year and we look forward to sharing many moments with all of you in the future! This coming weekend we have "Make and Take" Jewelry night on Thursday Dec 2, we welcome St Joseph's Friday Night for their Christmas party! We're still open to the public!
Hello All! Today is Nov 15th and time is flying! Do you know we have a 1 year anniversary coming up Nov 28th? We got some special stuff happening that day! We have a very talented local artist here in Norwalk; Billie Smith, who will be displaying and selling her art at our winery Saturday and Sunday this weekend! She'll be there 2-4 on Saturday and 1-3 on Sunday. Stop out and check out these fabulous works of art! This weekend we also have the Souper Trail continuing through Sunday. Oh Happy Week! Today is November 8th and we had a great turn out Sunday for the Holiday Vendor Day~although probably a bit premature on the holidays!! We'll do another as we get closer. It was so much fun! OH, HOW'D THE PUMPKIN WINE GO, YOU ASK? Well after all the cutting, chopping, de-rind type stuff was done we got it moving! Thanks to JT and Ilene for helping me grind up 227 lbs of pumpkin meat! JT did a fine job stirring that must! My arms thank him! It smells like pumpkin, looks like !?!? and I'm positive this will be a great tasting wine! Don't forget we got Chas coming out on Thurs to give us a Wine Appreciation 101 Class from 7-8pm. He'll show us which type or size of glass to put which type of wine in, and he'll go over some maintenance of our wine glasses(free!). I may sit in for that one! As you all know I seem to break a glass each time I work! We also have Sharon and Vanessa with presentations Thurs (check out calendar) and Vietnamese foods Thurs, Spaghetti Fri, Chili Sat and Sun! It's a crazy time of year! Guess what I get to do this week! Make Pumpkin Wine! I'm so excited! We also have some cool things going on this week: Chas will be showing us a bit about our wine glass maintenance(Nov 11). Anyone ever in the winery when I break glasses? Some of the regulars know...... He'll show us what glass you should drink your red or white or dry or sweet wines out of and give us a "Wine Appreciation 101" class Thurs 7-8pm (no charge). Also Thurs evening promptly at 6:30pm Detox Presentation by Sharon (no charge) 11/4 Vanessa is back with the Cell Analysis Scan $25
We've started our Wine Making Classes!! What fun! I even learned something new! Check out the Home Page on this Site for the full schedule and new classes you can sign up for! This week we got some exciting stuff ahead of us! Thursday night we will be at the Comfort Keeper's Open House from 5pm-7pm doing wine tastings. Lynn will be helping us that evening at the winery! Friday Night we got Father Bill and the Band from 7pm-10:30pm playing some great tunes! 20% of the night's sales will go toward the Youth Ministry of St Joe's and St Alphonsus! Stop out!
Ladies and Gentlemen! We have Jewelry Make and Take Night, Acoustic Scotty, and on Sunday Matt Barber. Matt plays and sings songs by Frank Sinatra and Michael Brule! He's fastastic to listen to. You gotta stop out for this one! We are also doing Chili all day on Saturday. It's ready when you are! Stop out for this wonderfully tasting Chili! We have two shows coming up you'll need to get tickets ahead of time. One is the Art and Wine Show November 20-21. The other we believe will be December 10 is the Mystery Dinner Theater(net set in stone yet). The costs on these two are not determined yet. Guess I'm a tad behind on these.... sorry all! Today is October 5th and we've had some fun last weekend! Kim's 50th was a blast and Ross and Lawrence did an excellent job entertaining us! Saturdays we're going to try something a bit different for foods. We're doing a Chili buffet 5pm-7pm $5.00 endless! Coming up we got Ladies Night 10/7 with Pampered Chef, Body Scans to see what we're lacking in Vitamins, weight loss and nutrition, Silpada and Kim's Jewelry, Ham Fried Rice and Egg Rolls, and our wonderful Sangria!! We have an Arbonne party upstairs if you'd like to see what they're all about!Ladies are having some good times at D & D. You should stop out! Hello! Today is September 21 and I need to go shopping for my Godson Seth's 2nd birthday! Just thought i'de share that with you all~i'm so excited! Back to business.... we got lots planned coming into the fall season at D & D Smith Winery. Our Thursday Ladies Nights are heating up! Check out all the events we got planned throughout October on our calendar page. Our Spaghetti Dinners on Friday are going great. We need to get you all out for Pizza on Saturday night and watch some entertainment that evening too! It's a comfy atmosphere and we are proud to offer it! If we don't have a fire going outside just ask us and we'll get it glowing! Sunday is a great sports day. Why not share it with us! We open 12-5 on Sunday and if I know of a large crowd coming we'll have some appetizers too. Soup is always a winner! Keep us in mind for your parties!
Hello! I want to share something with you all ~ Last weekend (I won't put names to this) we had a couple that have been coming to the winery probably since February stop in to give us a little story. They met this past February and chose to meet at our winery for their 1st date. They continued to come probably each month and their relationship evolved into something very special. They expressed to us they fell in love at our winery and are now getting married. That's something special and we appreciate you letting us be a part of your beginnings! That same evening a beautiful couple were standing at the bar and he excitedly stated he was the only one drinking tonight as his wife is pregnant with their 4th child. Through some friendly conversation the wife stated the child may have been conceived the last time they came to the winery! OK~ this may be too mushy for some to handle so i'll stop with the stories now! Thanks to all who have helped us get our business started. We're coming up on our One Year Anniversary November 27th and have met lots of fantastic people and we hope we helped bring some happiness into others lives too!

Hello All! If you missed Thursday night this past Thursday you missed some fun times! People are still talking about it! We had some adicting Home-Made Chinese Egg Rolls - I couldn't even have just one! They'll be back this next Thursday Aug 5th along with Vietnamese Shredded Chicken Sandwiches. Can't wait to try them! Also on Aug 5th we'll have Sharon going over facial foundations, colors, concealers, and Cover-ups! We'll have a MYSTERY DRINK from our winery! Our "Whining at the Winery" was a great turn out this past Thursday! Thank you Sharon Rood-Arbonne Rep! It's a great learning experience and wonderful new relationships. You need to stop out on our next one August 19th!

We've made some arrangements where we could help you with that! 2) Pizza & Salad buffet on Saturday nights from 5-8pm (starts 8/14). 3) We got WiFi now! 4) Outdoor speakers to listen to tunes while relaxing by the river!
OK - We have lots of things planned for us Ladies for Thursday evenings, and we even have a food event coming up on a Sunday in possibly August, but we must get some guy things going. Yeah, I know, they drink beer.... But a guy stopped in a week or so ago and wanted to do a cigar/wine type party outside. I was pretty hesitant but after some thought I think that would be a good thing! So, if you know of someone that would be interested send them my way. This past weekend went way too fast! Thank you to all the Bike Fans that stopped by Friday afternoon! We had a good time! Now we're approaching another exciting weekend! Thursday night we have Relax for Relay! starts at 5pm $10 to get entered into raffles, get a glass of wine, and some munchies! Stop out for this great cause! Friday is ALL YOU CAN EAT SPAGHETTI! Saturday we have Acoustic Scottie back with us, and Sunday hot dogs on the grill~~~~~ Hope to see you then.
Friday Night we had a full house for dinner throughout the night! Thanks to all who came out & enjoyed some wonderful Spaghetti! Saturday night was a blast! Our artist/entertainer Ren did a wonderful job keeping us all "into" the music! We moved tables and danced the night away. It was great! Thanks Ren! We're trying to get him back soon.
Wow, Last weekend was great! We laughed & had so much fun! Thursday night "Whining at the Winery was fun and also gave us some insight as to some of these feelings us women have at times! You should stop out at the next one on June 10th at 6:30pm. Fantastic Sunday afternoon! Couldn't ask for better weather or music. Thanks for joining us! Stop out every Sunday from 12-5pm. Other News - Liquor Control gave us approval on the Expansion of our winery to include the grounds outside. So, as long as you're inside the fenced area (roped off area) you can walk outside to sip your wine! We'll have picnic tables out soon and hopefully we will enjoy a nice evening fire outside soon too! Thanks so much to Norwalk's 3-B District on the vote Tuesday to permit us to have Sunday wine tastings. We'll have a THANK YOU NORWALK gathering the last Sunday of May where we'll also have a Jazz artist play for us from 1-4. More to come on this!
This month we've got retirement parties, special groups, wedding showers, and lots of fun! We got some new talent on Saturday nights: Scott Stiert 'Scottie' on 4/3 & 4/10, then on 4/17 Ross and Lawrence. Chocolates and Strawberry wine seem to be a big hit! Stop out and try some. Speaking of Chocolates we got a Panache Wine and Chocolate Trail starting on May 14th from 12pm-6pm and will also be on that Saturday and the following weekend at the same times. Last week our sons Joe & Cori & some friends Chuck & Tammie took care of the winery for us while we took a break. I hear they did a great job! A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to all 4 of them! We're back from 80 degree weather into a snow storm! It's good to be home though! We got Steve Brownell coming to visit us Saturday from 8-11pm & some great tasting spaghetti available. This is great! While a new acoustic artist this past Thursday was entertaining us & his family, he all the while had this end to his evening planned out in his head. AND HE STILL COULD SING! At the end of his show he had her come up to his area, spoke a few little words, and got down on one knee! She said YES!!!
